Mambo Soul Jazz provides an exhilarating mix of Latin, Soul and Classic Jazz. Led by passionate saxophonist Martin Franco, originally from New York City and an alumni of Berklee College of Music, Mambo Soul Jazz brings excitement and joy to all grooves they play.
On the Latin side, they are inspired by the greats of Afro-Caribbean Jazz: Tito Puente, Mongo Santamaria, Poncho Sanchez and Ray Barretto. On the Soul side, they bring a funky urban mix of Grover Washington Jr, Maceo Parker, George Benson and Herbie Hancock. As for Classic Jazz, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Wes Montgomery and Stan Getz are among the inspirations.
Their vast repertoire includes many of the most well know Jazz Standards (Summertime, Body and Soul, Sunny and many more available by request), Super Funky Romps (Mister Magic, Chameleon, Black Byrd) and Latin Jazz Classics (Afro Blue, Viva Tirado, Europa) always played with an inspiring joyous vibe.
